The international medical students completed the professional training at the Institute of continuing education in Pitirim Sorokin Syktyvkar State University. 39 future doctors have mastered the work as junior medical staff.

At our University, students can get a new profession as a worker or employee, within the main educational program or by studying under the professional training program. This will allow them to find a job at extra time.

The international students of the Medical Institute got the opportunity to study the professions of “Hospital attendant” and “Junior nurse for patient care”. Thus, students master all stages of work during their studies at the Institute: from junior medical staff to a doctor. This knowledge will allow students to work and practice successfully at the medical institutions from their first years of studying.

Kshetra Timilsaina, the third-year student, told why he decided to learn the competencies of junior medical staff:

— I really enjoyed studying, but unfortunately, due to the pandemic, I have not had time to apply my knowledge at work yet. Any training provides some experience and skills. We already had practice at the hospital, there I had learned how to give injections, measure blood pressure, transport patients from one department to another, and much more. The work of junior medical staff is very important, so I am glad that I had the opportunity to study it as a part of the professional training.

It is worth noting that the Institute of continuing education of Pitirim Sorokin Syktyvkar State University offers a huge range of professional training, retraining and professional development programs. For example, students are trained annually in the professional training program “Counselor”. This program is aimed at training qualified teachers for camps of all forms of organized recreation and recreation of children during the holidays. Students work in children’s health camps not only in the Komi Republic, but also in the camps located outside its borders.

Every year, more than a hundred students are trained at the Driver Training Center. “Professional training of drivers of vehicles of category “B” was included in the list of “100 best goods and services of the Komi Republic”, because students showed the best results of passing exams in the Traffic Police.

Thus, students become more competitive in the labor market. At the end of the University, the graduates will be able to declare themselves as competent specialists with impressive portfolio.
