On March, 21 a concert dedicated to the Nooruz and Holi holidays was held in Pitirim Sorokin SyktSU. The concert was organized by foreign students studying at the University.

Vice-Rector for Youth Policy of Pitirim Sorokin SyktSU Popov Dmitry made a welcoming speech. He noted that it is very important to learn more about each other’s cultures. The head of Pitirim Sorokin SyktSU International Department Svetlana Obshanskaia was also present among the concert’s guests. She presented gratitude letters from the House of Peoples’ Friendship to the students. The University’s partner from India Ajit Kumar Yadav also attended the concert.

The students demonstrated various cultural traditions and national customs of their countries. They amazed audience with their colourful dances, musical performances and traditional songs. Each performance was filled with love and passion for their cultures. The audience supported the foreign students’ performances with loud applause.

The concert was a real proof of meeting and understanding the differences that unite students from different countries in one creative space. This allowed them to show their cultures, traditions and customs. This way the students can preserve their national heritage in a new environment.

Participation in such events helps international students to feel accepted and be included in the university community. Students exchange their experiences and strengthen interpersonal connections.
