On 22 May, Pitirim Sorokin Syktyvkar State University hosted the final Freshman Spartakiads.

Students from the Institute of Social Technology, the Institute of Sciences and Information Technology, the Institute of Medicine, the Institute of Law and the University College of Economics, Law and Computer Science of Pitirim Sorokin Syktyvkar State University attended swimming competitions.

The competition took place in the swimming pool of the university. The students had to swim 50 meters with a freestyle. The winner of the competition was determined by the two best results of the personal swim.

Students of the Law Institute became the undisputed leaders, the second-place team is the College of Economics, Law and Computer Science and the third-place taken by the Medical Institute.

The third place was was taken by Mohamed Elaraby Abdellatif, a student of the preparatory department. He said that he had been a swimmer for 10 years and had been the champion of Egypt and the Arab Republic of Egypt three years before leaving for Russia.


– I was delighted when I saw the announcement of the upcoming competition. I liked the fact that the university has sports, and the university has such competitions. It was a great experience in every way. Both the captain and the participants were excellent in terms of their professionalism. At this competition, I wanted to prove myself and I did it.
